Mint and Anchors

Capris, Shirt: Gap, Shoes: Target, Sunnies: Huntington Beach

This shirt and these mint capris are my favorite.  Not only are they both comfortable but I love the color combination and how they look put together.  I have not been to Gap (shocking I know because basically all my clothes is from there) in awhile but I will be making a stop there this weekend.  I hope that they have slashed their summer goods because I am ready to spend some money on new clothes for school.  Most pieces will be similar to what I have paired above but hopefully some fun cardi's and blazers mixed in.

Short, Short, Shorts

Short and Jean Jacket: Gap, Shirt: Pacsun, Hat: Souvi from Cali,
Sunnies: Souvi from Germany, Watch and Bracelet: Nordi Rack

It's Monday and it is raining here but at least I have the day shift at work so that makes everything a little bit brighter on this gloomy morning.  The kid I tutored this morning was in such an insightful mood that he just talked my ear off about life issues and what was going on in his life.  Seeing and hearing the world through a kids eyes is so refreshing. Sometimes they have a lot weighing on their minds and I am so glad I was the one he trusted to tell.

It's Friday and that's a lovely thing

1.) Cool Spiderman art at the local burrito shop
2.) Classroom piece for when school starts
3.) This wine...WOW so good
4.) Bad Frog's frozen yogurt = perfection
5.) My friend sent me this and I am going to frame it and put it on my desk.
 Such a good reminder.

Black, floral, and breezy

Dress: Macy's, Shoes Target, Sunnies: Huntington Beach

Been MIA.  My sister put it best so you can read her post on tribute.  Although this dress is black it puts me in a good mood and is breezy which is needed in this 90+ degree heat we are having in Ohio.  Summer dresses are my go to for the hottest of days.

Light and dark

Capris, Jean Jacket, Shirt: Gap, Shoes: K-mart

Today is my first day off of work in over a week and a half.  I would like to say that I will be on the couch all day relaxing to the max but instead I will be looking at possible apartments to live in come August.  I am excited to see my options and envision myself living completely on my own and how I would arrange my furniture.  I am crossing my fingers that I fall in love with someplace that fits me to a T.

DIY 70's style chairs

I recently picked up these four chairs at state sale.  I was swooning over them as soon as my eyes caught the orange color on the lawn.  I got these four chairs for a six dollars!! I was in a bidding war with another person and I was like I will pay twenty bucks for these chairs so you better back off now... just kidding but I did say it in my head.  I just thought they had so much potential and I am in love with the new life I have breathed into them.  I plan on using these chairs for around my kitchen table which I am currently in the process of redoing as well.  Lately I have been quite the DIY guru :)

How to:
I used steal wool to get as much of the rust as I could off the the chair legs.  I then spray painted the legs a metallic color to give the appearance of a clean metal.  Then I sanded and roughed up the plastic chairs so that the spray paint would adhere better.  Next I spray painted the chairs (needed about 3 good coats).  Lastly I put black leg covers on all the bottoms to finish the look and to protect any floor they should touch.
